Abstract
Bingocize® is an evidence-based practice that combines bingo with light-to-moderate-intensity range-of-motion exercises for residents of assisted living facilities and similar communities. Preliminary observations indicate that Bingocize® may enhance socialization and reduce isolation. However, additional data is necessary to confirm these effects. Facility activities directors reported several benefits of the program on residents' quality of life. Specifically, 54.5% noted that the program helps with residents' range of motion and reduces stiffness, improves overall health, and keeps residents mobile. They also observed that Bingocize® is beneficial for mental stimulation and helps residents stay alert. Challenges included residents' initial reluctance to participate due to negative perceptions of exercise; however, incentives like snacks were effective in boosting participation. Furthermore, activities directors highlighted the need for additional interns to support the program and enhance staff enjoyment of the sessions.
